Subscription Questions

New subscriptions to Overland Journal start with the next issue published, which can often be 2 or more months away. Please let us know if you would like to start your subscription with the current issue; we'd be happy to ship it to you upon request. Include your name and address, or order number, and send us a note to service@overlandinternational.com.

When does the next issue come out?

Here is when we plan to ship each of the issues throughout the year:

  • Gear Guide - December/January
  • Spring - February/March
  • Summer - May/June
  • Fall - July/August
  • Winter - September/October

After we ship the issue, it can take 2-3 weeks to arrive for subscribers in the US, 4-6 weeks to arrive in Canada, and 4-8 weeks to arrive internationally. If you think you've missed an issue, please let us know right away.

How do I change my address?

You can fill out this form, send us an email, or leave us a voicemail. We will need a little bit of information to make the change; please provide the following:

  • Subscriber # (if you have it, we only print it on your shipping label)
  • First and last name
  • Old address
  • New address
  • The last issue you received

When does my subscription start?

New subscriptions start with the next issue published as they are shipped from our printer. On your receipt, it should tell you which issue you'll receive first. Look for "Subscribe or Renew (New (starts with _____), 1-year, US & Canada)"

Since we publish five issues per year, it can take a few months for you to receive your first issue. If you think you have missed an issue, please send us an email.


Gift Subscriptions

How do I buy a subscription for someone else?

Easy—when you purchase the gift subscription, use the recipient's name and mailing address in the shipping information fields at checkout. Feel free to leave a comment on your order if you feel unsure that we have the information correct.

Will you notify the recipient of the gift?

We don't send anything by default, but if you send us an email we'd be happy to send them a letter.

When will they receive their first issue?

Digital Subscriptions

Do you have a digital version of Overland Journal?

Yes we do! You can access it on AppleAndroid, and the Zinio Desktop Reader. The digital subscription is not yet bundled with print subscriptions so it must be purchased separately. Within each app is the option to subscribe and buy back issues. All of our back issues are available digitally (even those rare issues from 2007 & 2008).


Shipping and Returns

Shipping

Order Processing

Please allow 2-3 business days for your order to ship. You will receive a shipping notification email once your order has been packaged and scheduled for pickup by the shipping company. Most shipping notification emails contain a tracking number.

Availability

While we can ship to nearly any address in the world, there are some restrictions on product availability, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations. These products will say "US & CAN" in the product name to indicate they may only be purchased by customers in the United States and Canada.

Shipping Costs

Customers in the U.S. and Canada pay a $5 flat-rate shipping on orders under $100. Orders over $100 (before tax) qualify for free shipping. 

For international shipments, we will estimate shipping costs for you based on the weight of everything in your order. If the shipping estimate seems inaccurate, please send us a note to service@overlandinternational.com. We only charge our customers what it costs us to ship their order, so we would be happy to put together a shipping quote for you. Please include your shipping address as well as the name of the products you'd like to purchase. 

Orders shipped outside of the United States may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, and fees. The recipient is responsible for payment of these fees as they are determined by the customs office upon arrival. We have no control over these charges. Please contact your local customs office for more information. 

Returns Policy

Not happy with your purchase? We'd love to make it right. 

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item, login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item. If you don't have an account or can't get logged in, please send us a note to service@overlandinternational.com and include your order number.
