Here we are mid-safari, at the South Rift Research Camp and Resource Centre – with research assistant Joel Njonjo Kamanga, who works for the Uaso Ngiro Baboon Project. We had a wonderful morning with Joel, who is studying a large baboon troop in the region. We walked out with the troop while they were feeding, and then we continued on along the river and Joel shared with us a lot of ethno-botanical information. Later in the day we had our best wildlife viewing of the trip, in the Olkiramatian-Shompole Conservation Area, where we were the only ‘tourists’ and enjoyed plentiful game and spectacular views. We will post more images soon – we shot more than 600 images in RAW format and it will take us a bit more time to process them.
